The Åbo Akademi University Foundation contributes financially to maintaining Åbo Akademi University and also supports and promotes other cultural activities in Swedish in Finland, especially scientific research. In 2023 we donated 17,5 million euros to Åbo Akademi University. Furthermore we promoted cultural work with 2,7 million euros.

Culture-bearing activities

We have an important role as a cultural promoter. We operate three museums and also own the building where Åbo Svenska Teater is operating free of charge.

Casa Haartman

The artist’s home Casa Haartman is designed by the architect Erik Bryggman for the couple Axel and Hedvig Haartman.

The Åbo Akademi University Foundation owns and manages a real estate portfolio consisting of university properties, commercial properties, and rental flats.
