Our Funds
The Åbo Akademi University Foundation was established on June 18, 1917, through the initiative of 35 private individuals. Since its founding, the foundation has been creating future by supporting academic education, scientific research, and the Finnish-Swedish cultural field. With a legacy spanning over a century, the foundation’s work is rooted in generous donations and has consistently received strong support across generations. Today, the Åbo Akademi University Foundation manages over 400 funds. Below are some of the funds owned and managed by the foundation, reflecting our diversity and representing various eras, purposes, and personal stories
The Åbo Akademi University Foundation is dedicated to sustaining support for Åbo Akademi University and Finnish-Swedish cultural field for generations to come. Donations remain crucial, and a donation to the foundation offers a meaningful way to follow in the footsteps of our past benefactors. If you would like to learn more about how donations help us create future or if you are considering making a contribution, for example, by establishing a scholarship fund, please contact our CFO Marian Westerlund.
