The Per Brahe Prize
The Per Brahe prize was established in 1987 by the Åbo Akademi University Foundation. The prize is awarded to a promising researcher at Åbo Akademi University, whose continued close affiliation to the university is considered particularly valuable. The candidates for the prize are nominated by the Rector and the Deans of Åbo Akademi University.
The recipient of the prize is selected by the foundation’s board based on a recommendation made by an external prize committee. The prize sum is 15,000 euros.
The following criteria apply for the Per Brahe Prize:
- The prize is primarily awarded to a yonger researcher (2-7 years post-doctorate).
- Priority is given to researchers who have established strong international networks or forms of collaboration that support the university’s internationalisation and have actively advanced in their research careers.
