Free Entry for Students to Our Museums in September
Thanks to our history and the donations we have received, the Åbo Akademi University Foundation carries a responsibility to support and promote cultural activities in Finland, particularly in Swedish. A central part of our cultural activities is represented by our museums: Sibelius Museum, the museum Ett Hem, and the artist’s home Casa Haartman.
Throughout September, the Åbo Akademi University Foundation offers free entry to students at its museums.
Please present a valid student card at the ticket desk. The offer does not apply to concerts.
Welcome to our museums!
Sibelius Museum – A house full of music
Located in Turku, the Sibelius Museum is Finland’s most versatile music museum. The museum features exhibition galleries, a concert hall, instrument collections, and an extensive music archive. This year, the Sibelius Museum celebrates its 100th anniversary, a milestone reflected in its current exhibitions.

The Museum Ett Hem – A charming 20th century home
The museum Ett Hem was originally the private home of Consul Alfred and Hélène Jacobsson. The Jacobssons had a keen interest in art, and throughout her life, Hélène carefully furnished and decorated the house. In 1925, they donated their home to the Åbo Akademi University Foundation with the wish that it be preserved as a museum named Ett Hem. The museum’s art collection includes oil paintings, prints, watercolours, pastels, and sculptures by artists such as Helene Schjerfbeck, Albert Edelfelt, Akseli Gallen-Kallela, and Elin Danielson-Gambogi.

Casa Haartman – The artist home of the Haartman couple
The artist’s home Casa Haartman was designed by Turku architect Erik Bryggman for Axel and Hedvig Haartman. Axel Haartman was a highly versatile artist and cultural figure. The home has been preserved with the Haartmans’ original furnishings and is adorned with works by Axel Haartman, as well as by other artists, including Fanny Churberg, Victor Westerholm, and Wäinö Aaltonen.
