To ensure a comfortable environment for all, it is important for each tenant to be considerate of others. Practising good manners includes accepting the noises of normal life. General rules should be followed to maintain a good atmosphere among neighbours. Please take a moment to review the specific rules of order for the housing community.
Checklist for New Tenants
Here is a short checklist for people moving in. The list contains useful information consider when moving.
- Submit an official change of address well in advance to ensure that mail is sent to the correct address. By law, the notice must be submitted within one week of your move.
- Set up an electricity contract with a provider before moving in (does not apply to Domus). The contract must start on the same date as your rental agreement.
- Notify the new service company of your move. (For Domus, Tehtaankatu 7, Linnankatu 1 and Vesta, contact Talo Team.)
- If you are entitled to general housing allowance or student housing allowance from Kela, you must obtain the relevant documents for the applications and send the application to Kela.
- Remember to secure a home insurance policy for your new address.
- Ensure that your home has enough working smoke alarms.
- Familiarise yourself with the emergency instructions for your new home so that you know what to do in case of an accident or fire.
