Centres of Excellence
The Åbo Akademi University foundation supports Åbo Akademi University with an annual contribution of 10-15 million euros. Support for scientific research if offered through scholarships for researchers, awarded in close collaboration with Åbo Akademi, as well as through funding for the Donner Institute for Research into Religion and Culture.
In 2018, to mark the 100th anniversary of Åbo Akademi University, we donated 15 million euros as a centenary gift. This funding is specifically earmarked for pioneering research and will be awarded to outstanding research groups over the period 2019 to 2028.

The Åbo Akademi University Foundation is supporting four Centres of Excellence at Åbo Akademi.
The funding period is 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2028.
