Supporting Åbo Akademi University
The majority of the foundation’s funding is dedicated to the Åbo Akademi University, with the goal of enhancing the university’s ability to conduct innovative research and provide high-quality education. The Åbo Akademi University Foundation also aims to promote academic collaboration both nationally and internationally, strengthening the university’s position. The annual contribution to Åbo Akademi University usually amounts to around 15 million euros.
This contribution to Åbo Akademi University primarily consists of:
- Project funding and operation grants
- Direct research funding
- Scholarships and endowment grants
In addition, the Åbo Akademi University Foundation supports the university’s library services, especially through the Gösta Brander Research Fund.
The Inez and Julius Polin Institute at Åbo Akademi University receives funding from the Åbo Akademi University Foundation through Julius Polin Ancestral Memory Fund. Learn more about the institute here.
