About the Åbo Akademi University Foundation
For over 100 years, the Åbo Akademi University Foundation has been creating future by supporting scientific research, academic education and culture that promote the Swedish-speaking community in Finland. Our primary mission is to support the Åbo Akademi University.
Our work also includes the Donner Institute for Research into Religion and Culture, operating museums, and maintaining or depositing book, art, and scientific collections. We own, manage, lease, and develop properties, buildings, and apartments to advance our mission. Each year, we distribute 15-20 million euros in prizes, grants, scholarships, and financial support.
Our operations are guided by a commitment to social responsibility, transparency, quality, and sustainability. Learn more about our strategy, vision, and values here.
We are member of the Association of Finnish Foundations, and we follow the code of conduct Best Practice for Foundations.
